Acrobatics at work - Action-packed interpretation of the world of work

Curtain up for our autumn campaign “stretch your limits”. An ensemble of the finest acrobats presents the new e.s.dynashield stretch clothing in a breath-taking performance. The choreography arranged for this commercial reflects the previously unknown flexibility of movement and pleasant comfort of products in this new collection.

DURABLE AND DYNAMIC - bXeric® - the thread makes it possible

Over the past few months our development team has been working intensely on designing a material that is very wear-resistant, offers flexibility of movement and is very pleasant to wear. The result is the material bXeric® double weave used to make the products of our new e.s.dynashield collection.

Hard on the outside, soft on the inside – the special mix of polyamide and elastane and the unique double weave technology are the secret ingredients of the material. For instance, the outside of the material is extremely durable, whilst the inside is pleasantly soft on the skin.

bXeric® double weave - ideally suited for tradesmen and women who move and lot and are constantly up and down on their knees.

Whether it is via customer service, quality assurance or the workwearstores®, at exhibitions or through social media, we regularly receive customer feedback about our products personally, by phone or in writing. We treat this feedback very seriously and use it for further deliberations.


Our shoe development team maintains a permanent dialogue with users. We develop concepts for new products based on customer feedback and our own ideas. And we implement these ideas in cooperation with our long-standing partners. One example of this are our new S3 safety shoes Cebus mid and Cebus low.

Fresh colours, fast developments based on customer wishes - in recent years we have invested heavily in the development of new shoes. To meet the wishes of our customers and the growing demand even more quickly, we have installed a new sole machine together with our Italian partner. This machine enables us to plan production even more flexibly and frees up resources for further sole developments.

We are an owner-operated family company spanning four generations. Together we, Norbert, Steffen and Henning Strauss, head the company, which was long ago founded by our father and our grandfather Engelbert Strauss. At our location in Biebergemünd / Frankfurt am Main, we employ around 1,200 employees. We are represented by nine separate subsidiaries in Europe and also serve a large number of international and commercial clients from our company premises in the Rhine-Main area.

As a market leader in the field of workwear, we change how entire industries are presented. Our range comprises of professional workwear, accessories and shoes as well as industrial safety. For some years now, we have been putting our many years of experience and proximity to the market specifically into the expansion of particular collections. We therefore offer our clients clever in-house developments, from head to toe. We thereby have high aspirations for the design and function of our products. Based on technological performance value, as well as a sporty character, our products are also increasingly worn outside of the world or work. We distribute our range online, through our catalogue and in separate workwearstores®. We are completely independent and therefore do not publish any company figures.

With the new company campus at our location in Biebergemünd, we are investing in the future. The premises are distinguished by their modern structures and open-design architecture. In this individual atmosphere, creative ideas, new trends and innovative products should emerge.

Development, production control and purchasing, marketing and retail - as a trendsetter in green surroundings, the new campus building contains the complete creation - from the first idea to presentation of the product in the store.

The existing buildings, called the atrium and the logistics centre, remain the operative pivotal point of the company. Logistics, sales and customer services occupy the largest part. Our colleagues from personnel, accounting and IT also have their offices there.

engelbert strauss wins logistics prize 2015

engelbert strauss is the first company in Europe to use robots to pick orders and has integrated made-to-measure workflows into its IT infrastructure. We received the German Logistics Prize 2015 and the European Logistics Prize 2016.

When designing our new high-tech warehouse, we intend to use future-oriented technologies that are developed to our very own specifications.

Top national employer and best loved family company engelbert strauss receives two coveted prizes

We have been awarded the 'Top National Employer 2016' prize and took first place in the category 'Clothing, shoes and sports equipment' among medium-sized companies. In addition, we bagged in first place as Germany's most loved family-run company in the textiles industry. Across all industries we ranked 33 making us one of the top 100 best loved family-run companies.
