engelbert strauss produces clothing for the most diverse applications and requirements on the job. Collections made from high-quality materials and features. Workwear as varied as the world of work

Every job is different – and almost every occupation has its very own uniform. Pinafores, aprons and chef's jackets are standard in gastronomy. Tunics and all kinds of white workwear dominate in the care sector. And what about trade and industry? Almost every trade has its own special identification.

Tradesmen expect a lot from their work clothes. They must withstand the hardest stresses and strains. The shape and size must fit well to ensure high wear comfort. High-quality workwear must also score points with functional features – especially the pockets. The time of year, and the weather in general, also play a major role. Professional workwear has to be one thing above all: A perfect fit! The design and size are crucial in guaranteeing a comfortable fit. Our huge selection of sizes should offer everyone in the team the right fit - and provide perfect support at work every day!

T-shirts from 2 XS to 7XL, up to 60 trouser sizes, including short, long and stocky trousers fits create the basis for the perfect team outfit.

We also accommodate the different types of wearer with various shapes of T-shirts and polo shirts. After all, something that suits a colleague might not suit someone else. Wood chips need to be stopped from getting into the pockets of carpenters, whilst in the assembly and automobile industries it's important to protect parts against scratches caused by exposed fasteners. Extremely tear-resistant, highly resistant to wear or ultimate flexibility: The engelbert strauss collections are ready to meet a range of different needs.

The choice of raw material is a decisive factor in our designs. A high cotton proportion such as in our e.s.roughtough collection provides for a comfortable, natural wear sensation. Workwear with part elastane, such as the e.s.dynashield line is particularly flexible. Polyester mixes achieve high performance rates in terms of wear and tear-resistance. We develop practice-orientated models for various industries and activities. We offer work trousers and work jackets, but also basics such as T-shirts, polo shirts, hoodies, long sleeve shirts & others in various fabric mixes, and attach huge value to the quality of raw materials.

Workwear for all weather conditions

Workwear must be flexible and adjust to changing weather conditions. Depending on the collection, we offer light and practical waistband jackets, comfortable softshells, weather-proof rain jackets, waterproof dungarees and functional winter jackets. As part of your personal protection equipment, workwear must often be combined with protective clothing in hi vis colours for special applications. Waistband trousers in 10 colour combinations or with a wonderfully warm lining for winter in 6 colours, dungarees, rain trousers, shorts: Sporty shapes and equipped with many practical pockets and details, the motion 2020 trousers form the best basis for individual combinations. The fully elasticated e.s.dynashield collection is also available for ladies - for tradeswomen who need fewer pockets and more freedom of movement.

Work protection - safety first!

Above all, the wearer should feel good in the right workwear - and safe! Special protective measures are required depending on the work involved. Safety clothing that protects against heat and flames or against the danger of an electric arc, for example. An appropriate safety shoe to suit the place of work is extremely important to protect the foot against mechanical influences. Of course, safety helmets, work gloves, respirator masks, head protection, ear protection and eye protection are also part of your personal protection equipment. The aim is to effectively protect employees against dangers and damages to health. The central pillar of functioning work protection is the employer's risk assessment so that the necessary protection measures and therefore the right PPE can be selected.

Certified safety workwear

Safety clothing is understood as clothing that protects the wearer against dangers or risks in various situations (source: German statutory accident insurance). Certified safety clothing is subject to various standards depending on the application. The standard EN 381-5 applies to cut protection clothing, and standard DIN EN ISO 20471 for high-visibility clothing. DIN EN 343 indicates safety workwear with a weather protection function.Testing by a testing laboratory is required for this type of safety workwear. The protective clothing is certified by an approved body after successful testing.

Tips on workwear care

Work clothing such as painter's clothing needs different care to clothes used in gastronomy or the care sector. The type of care clothing needs therefore primarily depends on the job, the special application and the chosen type of clothing. We have a number of different models in the range for various sectors.

The care instructions are different depending on the product, so we recommend that you always check the label before washing! Very detailed washing, drying and care instructions are sewn into engelbert strauss clothing. These help you to care for the clothes properly.

Washing detergent for coloured textiles

Multi-coloured workwear or clothing with contrasting trims, prints, and embroidered or printed logos require special care. Here we recommended our e.s. Washing powder colour plus. The high-performance washing detergent is even suitable for cleaning membrane textiles and effectively combating dirt whilst protecting colours and fibres.

For white textiles, we also offer the e.s. Washing powder hygienic fresh, which is a special washing detergent with a disinfectant effect - especially interesting for sweatshirts, trousers or tunics in care professions or for work clothes used in gastronomy.
